2027 Hot Wheels Releases: Mainline Cars, Cases & Treasure Hunts

Written by Published Last updated

The 2027 Hot Wheels releases are beginning to take shape well before the calendar turns to 2027. Early collector reports already cover mainline Cases A, B and C, with a numbered Case A list, new castings, regular Treasure Hunts and several Super Treasure Hunt previews. What is less clear is just as important: some model details, case assignments and premium lineups still conflict across early reports.

This HotWheelsHub guide separates documented releases from previews and speculation. Use it to scan the Hot Wheels 2027 mainline list, understand the case system, spot the biggest collecting leads and see exactly which details need another check.

Quick answers

  • 2027 case coverage: Cases A, B and C have collector reports. An October 28 specialist report also names a Case D lead and a Case E lead, but these are single-source claims, not complete case checklists.
  • Case A list: 25 distinct numbered entries are documented by the collector sources reviewed; this is not a 72-car carton inventory.
  • Reported 2027 new castings: Ultra Turbofire, Tooned Bone Shaker and Ferrari 308 GTS are among the earliest documented.
  • Regular Treasure Hunts: El Segundo Coupe (A), High-Tail Chaser (B) and GT Hunter (C) are the first reported names.
  • Super Treasure Hunts: Eight models appear in the specialist-reported watchlist through October 31. BMW is best-supported in B, the DB5 in C and the Ferrari in F; several other case assignments remain disputed.
  • Official status: We have not located a complete Mattel-issued 2027 mainline checklist as of the research cutoff.

Research checked through: October 31, 2026. Editorial revision prepared November 1, 2026. This is an evolving release guide, not a finalized calendar or purchasing guarantee.

2027 Hot Wheels case status: what is known now?

Hot Wheels basic cars are released through lettered assortments. The standard mainline sequence uses 15 letters from A to Q, skipping I and O. A case letter identifies an assortment, not a month, and collectors in different countries can see the same mix at very different times.

For 2027, the earliest reports are uneven. Case A has the clearest numbered list; B and C have useful reported models without the same complete series-by-series detail. Later case predictions should not be treated as released checklists.

Later-case leads: An October 28 T-Hunted report names the '72 Chevy LUV for Case D and Hiway Hauler 2 for Case E. These are single-source specialist leads, not complete or independently corroborated case lists. Individual STH mix reports are tracked separately below and should not be read as full carton manifests.

What the evidence labels mean

Corroborated means multiple useful reports agree on the main identification; this does not necessarily mean every report is an independent physical inspection. Specialist-reported means a credible specialist or hands-on source reports the detail, without sufficient independent confirmation. Disputed marks a material disagreement between sources. Tentative is reserved for preliminary single-source leads. Not yet verified means this article does not have reliable evidence to fill the gap. None of these labels means Mattel officially confirmed the entry.

2027 Hot Wheels mainline list: Case A

The 2027 Hot Wheels Case A reports give collectors a useful starting checklist. The table records the 25 distinct numbered entries that were cross-checked in the October 29 research package. Number gaps are expected because the annual numbering does not follow the order cars first appear in case assortments.

How to read the table: the evidence badge describes the model identification as a whole, not a guarantee that every color, part code or mini-series entry is equally certain. An asterisk on a part code indicates a single-source code in the underlying research. “Sources differ” means there is an unresolved conflict.

Case A details worth checking twice

The Batmobile and '84 Audi Sport quattro have conflicting part-code mappings in early catalogs. Mazda RX-7 also has a part-code disagreement. Ultra Turbofire appears under different mini-series labels across sources, so our list follows the reported Hot Wheels Let's Race classification and keeps the discrepancy visible here. Colors for Kowloon'd Hypervan and the '22 Ford Maverick Custom also vary in the collector databases reviewed.

There is another important distinction: this is a list of identified models, not every physical car inside a factory-sealed carton. A 72-car assortment may include carryovers from previous mixes, and the inclusion of a Treasure Hunt or Super Treasure Hunt is not guaranteed.

Case B and Case C: the next releases to watch

Case B was being discussed by collectors in late September 2026, and Case C photos surfaced in October. These sightings offer useful leads, but they do not establish a universal retail arrival date. Here are the highlights to watch without presenting them as a complete numbered manifest.

2027 Case B and C: highlights, not complete carton inventories

BRegular TH: High-Tail Chaser; STH: BMW M4 GT3 (Case B best-supported; earlier preliminary Case C listing superseded); Cadillac CTS-V, Honda RA272 and Volkswagen Golf GTI also appear in coverage.Specialist-reported

Case B highlights

  • High-Tail Chaser: Case B is supported by a reported Case B unboxing and several catalogs, although one collector catalog lists Case A. We therefore describe B as specialist-reported rather than officially confirmed.
  • BMW M4 GT3: Case B is best-supported. An August 3 preliminary T-Hunted list placed it in C, but the August 25 update moved it to B; September 30 Case B unboxing coverage and later lists retained B. The earlier C assignment should be treated as superseded, not an equally current placement.
  • Cadillac CTS-V, Buick Regal GNX and Honda RA272: recognizable licensed models included in collector coverage.
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI and Polski Fiat 126P: additional reported highlights.
  • Case A carryovers: examples include Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Lil' Mad.

Case C highlights

  • GT Hunter: identified as the regular Treasure Hunt in a reported 2027 Case C unboxing. Gazella R appears as a separate 2027 catalog entry; available evidence does not establish it as the Case C regular TH or prove that it is the same casting as GT Hunter. Catalogs also disagree about the JPD12 part-number mapping. See our 2027 Treasure Hunt Tracker for the evidence comparison.
  • Quinjet and Deora II (Braille Racer): notable themed entries in early lists.
  • Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR34): a police-themed variation attracting collector interest.
  • Aston Martin DB5 Safari Edition: a regular metalflake-green version is reported. For the STH, Case C is best-supported by packaging and unboxing coverage, although an October 28 catalog lists Mix E. Earlier preliminary coverage used DBS; later specialist reports and collector catalogs use DB5.
  • Cadillac Formula 1 Team, Twin Mill and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk: reported in early coverage, with some tooling and model-year questions unresolved.

If a newer case appears online before your local shop has the earlier one, that is not necessarily an error. Retail distribution is regional, and overseas preview photos may precede local shelf stock.

New castings vs. recolors: what is actually new?

“New for 2027” can mean different things. A new casting is a newly developed miniature body design. A recolor uses an existing casting with a fresh paint or tampo design. A car can also be new to the basic mainline while having appeared previously in a premium range. Those categories should not be mixed together.

New paint does not necessarily mean a new casting. This illustration shows recolors versus different designs.

This matters when planning a collection. A familiar McLaren, Porsche or Ford with new paint may be a worthwhile 2027 release without being a brand-new casting. Conversely, an unfamiliar version of a car may be the first mainline appearance of tooling that collectors already know from another line.

2027 Treasure Hunts and Super Treasure Hunts

Treasure Hunts are part of the fun of hunting basic-card Hot Wheels. A regular Treasure Hunt typically has the flame-in-circle marking; Super Treasure Hunts feature special Spectraflame paint, Real Riders wheels and “TH” identification on the vehicle. Mattel has explained the format on its Treasure Hunt collector explainer. That source explains the general format, not the 2027 case-by-case list.

2027 Super Treasure Hunts reported so far

The specialist-reported watchlist contains eight 2027 Super Treasure Hunt models as of October 31, 2026. The entries combine dated previews, case reports and collector-catalog listings. Their evidence strength is not identical: some mix assignments are better-supported than others, and several remain disputed. This is not a complete Mattel-confirmed checklist, and a reported mix letter does not prove the contents of every sealed carton.

The DB5 Safari Edition name is used consistently in later specialist reports and collector catalogs; DBS appears in an earlier preliminary report. Case C is the better-supported STH placement, but the conflicting Mix E catalog entry remains disclosed. The Ferrari 12Cilindri finish is described as yellow or gold, and its JPC34/JPD34 toy-number conflict remains unresolved. For the Shelby GT500, neither the G/H assignment nor the JXXGG toy number has been established through authenticated packaging.

Ferrari in the 2027 Hot Wheels conversation

Several Ferrari names are circulating in early 2027 coverage, but they belong to different release types. The most important thing is not to confuse a newly tooled basic car, an existing casting returning to a case, a Super Treasure Hunt preview and a premium chase report.

  • Ferrari 308 GTS: reported all-new 2027 Case A mainline casting, no. 33 and Ferrari mini-series 1/5.
  • Ferrari F2004: a casting already associated with 2026, reported as appearing again in early 2027 assortment coverage; not a new 2027 casting.
  • Ferrari 12Cilindri: the casting was already associated with 2026. Its 2027 STH is a special version of that existing casting and is specialist-reported in Mix F. Catalogs differ between yellow and gold Spectraflame descriptions and between JPC34 and JPD34; the STH collection number is not established.
  • Ferrari F40: appears in preliminary Car Culture chase discussions, not as a verified 2027 basic mainline car here.

Ferrari collectors should keep a separate checklist for mainline, premium and chase versions. A model appearing on an early online list does not by itself prove that an identical car will reach all retailers or that it will be available in a particular month.

2027 premium Hot Wheels: Car Culture, Boulevard and more

Premium Hot Wheels are a separate branch of collecting from the basic mainline cars. In general, they offer different materials, wheels, finishes or special series themes. Our Premium vs. Mainline Hot Wheels guide explains the distinction in more depth.

Retail exclusives, ZAMAC and 5-Packs

A store-exclusive color is not interchangeable with the standard mainline variation, even when the body design is the same. Preliminary reports mention Target Red Edition, Kroger, ZAMAC and several 5-Pack themes, but they should be treated as separate release tracks, not pasted into a regular Case A, B or C list without evidence.

Target Red EditionCase C exclusive recolor candidates appear in some databases.Tentative: check packaging and store-exclusive identification.

5-PacksSeveral themed pack names circulate before full packaging details appear.Treat names and contents as provisional until photographed.

For store hunting, look at the card, the package type and the vehicle’s finish rather than assuming two similarly named releases are identical. Our Hot Wheels buying guides collect practical background on how to compare versions.

How to read Hot Wheels case codes and release timing

The letters A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P and Q represent the conventional mainline mix sequence. I and O are skipped. They are not month codes, so Case C does not mean March and Case A can surface before January in some places.

Miniature diecast car packaging and sorting cartons on a collector table
Illustrative assortment sorting scene. It does not show a documented Mattel 72-car carton manifest.

Case assortment details are often discussed alongside master carton identifiers. Collector documentation describes C4982 as an international-card mainline assortment and L2593 as a U.S. mainline assortment. These are examples to help interpret reports; always check the actual carton label for the product in front of you.

  • One mix can include both newly listed cars and carryovers.
  • A sealed box is not proof that its contents include a Super Treasure Hunt.
  • Case letters and production dates answer different questions.
  • Retail restocking, importer schedules and overseas distribution affect when a car appears locally.
  • A retailer preorder date is not an official Mattel worldwide release date.

A practical checklist for following the 2027 releases

You do not need to memorize every rumored casting. Keeping a small, reliable record saves time and makes it easier to spot genuinely new arrivals.

Miniature car storage case and a blank checklist as a collector organizes cars
Keep an independent collecting record so later case reports do not overwrite what you actually found.
  1. Record the mainline number and mini-series. A model name alone may not distinguish every version.
  2. Photograph the card, car and base. Good photos help settle color, code and wheel differences.
  3. Write down the case only when you know it. A shared image without a box label may not prove an assortment letter.
  4. Keep regular TH and STH entries separate. Check the physical markings and finish instead of relying on a caption online.
  5. Separate 2027 mainline, premium and retailer exclusives. A casting can appear in more than one line.
  6. Mark unclear information as provisional. It is easier to upgrade a record after confirmation than to undo a mistaken purchase.
  7. Check this tracker after new unboxings. We will update documented entries and record meaningful corrections.

How we research and update this release tracker

The tables in this article are a curated research snapshot, not a claim of first-hand unboxing. The 2027 details were assembled from dated collector reporting, available packaging and unboxing coverage, and collector-catalog comparisons reviewed through October 31, 2026. Separate publications are not automatically independent physical confirmations, and repeated database entries are not counted as proof of a sealed-case assignment. Where sources disagree on names, colors, part numbers, series positions or case assignments, the disagreement is shown rather than hidden.

We have deliberately avoided turning third-party leaks into Mattel announcements. Mattel’s official community did hold a 2027 Collectors’ Choice discussion in September 2025, but that discussion alone does not confirm the complete 2027 mainline list or establish why any particular casting appears in a given series.

Source boundaries: our two outbound links above point to Mattel-controlled background information. The individual 2027 case and premium details rely on dated collector-source comparisons held in our editorial research notes, not on an official Mattel 2027 master checklist. We do not use resale predictions, invented chase odds, seller listing prices or assumed drop dates as facts.

Frequently Asked Questions About 2027 Hot Wheels Releases

How many Hot Wheels mainline cases are there in 2027?

There are 15 mainline case letters in the standard sequence: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P and Q. I and O are skipped. Case letters are assortments, not fixed release months.

Which 2027 Hot Wheels cases have been reported so far?

As of October 31, 2026, collectors have reported Cases A, B, and C. Case A has 25 distinct numbered entries in our cross-checked list, while B and C have reported highlights rather than equally complete numbered checklists. An October 28 specialist report also names the ’72 Chevy LUV for Case D and Hiway Hauler 2 for Case E. These remain single-source leads, not complete or independently corroborated case lists. Don’t treat individual Super Treasure Hunt mix reports as complete case manifests.

Is the Case A list the same as everything inside a sealed 72-car box?

No. A model checklist identifies cars reported for the assortment, while a sealed carton may also include carryovers. The exact contents and any Treasure Hunt or Super Treasure Hunt are not guaranteed.

What are the first reported regular 2027 Hot Wheels Treasure Hunts?

El Segundo Coupe is reported for Case A. High-Tail Chaser is specialist-reported for Case B, supported by a Case B unboxing and several catalogs, although one collector catalog lists Case A. A documented Case C unboxing names GT Hunter.

Gazella R appears as a separate 2027 catalog entry, and the JPD12 part-number mapping differs across catalogs. Current evidence does not establish Gazella R as the Case C regular Treasure Hunt or prove that it is the same casting as GT Hunter.

An October 28 specialist report also names the ’72 Chevy LUV for Case D and Hiway Hauler 2 for Case E, but these assignments remain uncorroborated leads.

Which 2027 Super Treasure Hunts are reported?

Specialist reports reviewed through October 31, 2026, list eight 2027 Super Treasure Hunts: the ’64 Lincoln Continental, BMW M4 GT3, Aston Martin DB5 Safari Edition, ’87 Dodge D100, ’88 Mitsubishi Starion, Ferrari 12Cilindri, Porsche 911 Carrera T and ’67 Shelby GT500.

The Lincoln is reported in Case A, BMW in B, and the Aston Martin is best-supported in C, although a conflicting E catalog entry remains. The D100 has a D/C disagreement, the Starion D/E, the Ferrari is reported in F, the Porsche is listed in G by HWtreasure, and the Shelby has a G/H disagreement.

This is a specialist-reported watchlist, not an official complete Mattel checklist or a guarantee of sealed-carton contents. See our dedicated 2027 Treasure Hunt tracker for the case-by-case evidence.

How do you tell a regular Treasure Hunt from a Super Treasure Hunt?

Regular Treasure Hunts generally feature the flame-in-circle mark. Super Treasure Hunts are distinguished by special Spectraflame finishes, Real Riders wheels and TH identification on the car. Compare the physical car and packaging before deciding what you found.

Are the Ferrari 308 GTS and Ferrari 12Cilindri both new 2027 castings?

No. The Ferrari 308 GTS is reported as a new 2027 Case A casting. The Ferrari 12Cilindri casting was already associated with 2026; its 2027 Super Treasure Hunt is a special version of that existing casting, not a new casting.

Specialist sources report the STH in Mix F, but descriptions differ between yellow and gold Spectraflame, and JPC34 versus JPD34 remains disputed. Its STH collection number has not been established. Do not transfer the standard mainline version’s collection number to the Super Treasure Hunt without direct evidence.

Does Case C mean the cars arrive in March 2027?

No. A, B and C are assortment letters, not months. Regional distribution and retailer restocking can put a new case in one market before another.
